This is a family armorial - the crest of the family who owned the piece. It has no bearing on maker or date. You may be able to find the family name from Fairbairn’s Crests, several editions of which are available online.

Thank for your response Phil. I ill do that. If the item has no otherstamp on it except some manual scatchings, how would I be able to find out the date of manufacture?
In that case the only dating possibility would be to look at the style of the item.
