Hello
Not being an expert in hallmarks, I know the differences can be quite subtle. Would I be right in thinking this jewel was made by George Kenning in 1898?
Any help would be very appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Arthur.

I can confirm your reading of the marks. Although, to be really pedantic about it, it bears the sponsor’s mark of George Kenning & Son (as the company was known from 1895) and it was assayed during the assay year 1898/99.

Thank you so much Phil. The info on George Kenning & Son is very useful as I thought it changed to “& son” with the “GK&S” hallmark.
Thanks again
Arthur.
