Sheffield plate vase.

Hello,

I am fairly new to this, so bear with me please. I have this vase, which I am fairly certain is Sheffield plate.

It is about 25 inches/64 cm tall. The tubular/navette shaped part is welded together from two parts. It is silver and copper. The edge is lined with a U-shaped silver wire. Inside of it is is silvered ca 2 inches down, then a tin like surface follows down to the bottom. The part joining it with the foot seems to be brass and it is also silvered. It is unclear to me which method has been used there. The foot is oval and made of copper, decorated with silver wire. There are no visible marks anywhere.

I am fairly certain it is not a forgery, because I bought it at a flea market for about £13.

Can you give me any information about the age and/or origin? I do understand that it takes a careful examination in real life to be sure of anything. I am merely trying to find out if it´s worth making further research.
