I have a silver butter dish and would like to know the maker and year. Can anyone help?
Thanks for joining us, Mary. Unfortunately your butter dish is electroplated rather than silver. The lettering in your picture is G G & S S, for George Gordon & Son, Sheffield, and EP, for electroplate. Gordons were active from 1897 to 1927 according to this site.
