Silver religious pendant? Help!

Hi everyone,

Some time ago I inherited a small, silver pendant from my great-great aunt. After she had retired, she and her sister spent all of their time traveling the world and picking up “souvenirs.” This was one of them:

I don’t know anything about the image (I’m not a religious person in the slightest). There is/was a small hallmark on the back of it, but it is too worn away for me to even begin to guess what it said there :frowning: If I come up with anything I will post it. I don’t know exactly how old it is, either.

If anyone could tell me anything about this pendant, it would be greatly appreciated! I have always been curious about it.

This is St Christopher, patron saint of travellers, so very appropriate for a round-the-world traveller. He is supposed to have carried the Christ Child across a river. The name Christopher is derived from the Greek meaning bearer of Christ.
