Silver spoons

British Silver What is it?

I’ve looked and looked online trying to find out what and where these spoons are from.

They say Hallmark plate. Also has what appears to me an ME 2/2 with roman numerial initial 2 on them. Also 2/2 is seen.

No picture at the moment but wanted to give some info for now.

They don’t sound like silver. As the name is in English I would have expected a hallmark or some other form of fineness indicator such as “sterling” had they been silver.
