You might have spent a few of these while you were there. Province house (pictured on the reverse) is now under management by Parks Canada. The Feds undertook a renovation starting in 2015, and with depressing predictability, are still at it meaning the cradle of Canada’s Confederation has been locked up for over 11 years.

I actually didn’t get one. Memories of the trip were Church dinners, all you can eat lobster suppers at $5.00 a head and visiting Anne of Green Gables house on a rather windy day. We were stuck on the island because the ferry was cancelled. Today, there is eight mile bridge from New Brunswick linking the province’s 182,000 people to the mainland in the longest ice water bridge anywhere. Odd political system we have where Toronto with a GTA population of five million or so has no vote at confederation conferences and PEI has one tenth.
