Small silver box on legs

My father left this small repousse silver box just 2 1/4 inches wide. It was assayed in London in 1900 as an import, and the makers mark seems to be John George Smith who was an importer of silver rather than a maker. But where did it come from and how old was it when it arrived in London? Has anybody seen anything like it? I’ve scoured the web and can’t find any sort of match. A friend who is into silver thought it might be Dutch. I don’t know - rococo? Nouveau? My father bought it in 1977 for £32 (GBpounds). I would be so grateful if anyone had more to tell.

I’ve just found some items in Hungerford Arcade (UK) with the same decoration, and they were Dutch, so I think my friend was right. Thanks for all looking, Jp
