Trying to find out what this is?

Trying to find out what this is?? It is hallmarked MH&Co, has a patterned lid and “attached” saucer (?) but an open bottom. Any ideas gratefully accepted. Thank you!

That’s not a hallmark. It’s not sterling. The letters are EPNS, for electroplated nickel silver.

Not sure what it is. It looks like a mustard pot, but doesn’t appear to have an opening in the lid for a spoon. In any event, the bottom is open because it’s missing its glass liner.

ETA: How tall is it?

From base to tip of lid approximately 6" or 15cm.

Ah! Much too large for a condiment pot. It’s a pot for jam or preserves. The saucer would be for resting the spoon.

Thank you! It made no sense to me!

Ah, yes, “German Silver,” one the many highly-imaginative phrases used to describe an inexpensive alloy that contains no silver whatsoever. They went to all sorts of lengths to bamboozle the rubes.
