Hello,
These hallmarks are on silver tongs. On one side (inside the tongs), there is an RR and on the other side from bottom to top: (what appears to be) a profile of a monarch’s head, letter “k”, a lion passant and (maybe) a leopard’s head. If anyone can help identify the pattern, maker and date for this piece, I would appreciate it. I believe this is sterling based on the lion passant symbol. Am I right? Thanks so much.
Jill
The pattern is what we in the UK call “fiddle”, but I believe in the US it is called tipt (or tipped). The maker is Robert Rutland and the assay office and year are London, 1825.
Thank you for this information.
