1822 baby spoon

Hi, Can anyone give me a rough estimate of the value of this baby’s spoon I’ve just inherited? The hallmarks would seem to indicate that it was made by Joseph Taylor in Birmingham in 1822.

Hi there,

Firstly, this isn’t a baby spoon. Its called a Caddy Spoon, and it was used for getting tea out of a tea caddy.

It a nice little spoon, with a standard sort of pattern. People like collecting Caddy spoons. I would say it was worth between 50 and 75 pounds.

Cheers,

Ben

Ah, thanks Ben.

That makes sense. I was thinking it would be a hopeless thing to feed a baby with.

Now all I have to find is a tea caddy!

Cheers, David
