875 marking on ring? Silver or white gold?

Hi any info on my ring markings 875?? Is it silver or could it be gold?? Very unusual ring almost medieval

Regards T

Anyone know the age? When and what country it might be from?

English or not??

Some information would be very helpful

Thanks Tony

Still looking for any help with this unusual ring.

Sure appears to be a 18k stamp but as I have discovered never assume. Stop at your local pawn shop and have them test it for purity. Must have been made for a special purpose because in my book it is not an attractive ring, I never have seen a 875 silver piece.

You can buy a Silver and Gold testing kit from the Internet for next to nothing. The test is incredibly simple and takes seconds

Thank you for taking the time to help. I would not want to damage the ring as it’s not scrap. Thanks again.

Hi I have the exact same ring I have never seen anyone else with one! my grandfather is a collector based in Australia and when I found a box with 8 rings All the same but different stones he told me his friend Carlos made them. Carlos is a Mexican jeweler with a special interest in Catholic symbolism. I know he made my parents wedding rings and works primarily with white and yellow gold. As far as I know he doesn’t have any kind of website and has since passed.

. ( Pictured is all I have left of his work they need a good clean and a stone replacement on one  )
