A & J Zimmerman?

Hi there. We found this little bowl in an antique center today. It was affordable and marked 1895 A & J Zimmerman. At first I had doubts until I figured out it’s a V not a B. The maker’s mark is similar to examples I’ve found online but has some differences. Anything to worry about? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

It looks fine to me; the only possible problem is that the “A&” over “J.Z” is off centre in the mark but on close examination it looks as if the punch slipped to the right while it was being struck resulting in that lop-sided result.

Well done for determining that the date letter is v rather than b - it can fool even a professional!

thanks, Phil, I appreciate it! Sometimes reading marks can be so straightforward but sometimes it’s devilishly tricky.
