Antique Tea Pot - Need Help Identifying

My Grandfather recently passed away and has left me a silver teapot. He spent many years in the British Navy and also spent several years in India where he may have aquired this teapot. I am afraid I don’t know too much about it, but really would love to know the details.

Can you please help me date this?
Can you also help me to determine if this is worthwhile being restored?

Many thanks from Alberta Canada.

Without a hallmark or some other indication of silver fineness we have to conclude that your teapot is, at best, electroplated. If you are convinced it is silver you must get it tested by an expert. If the handle is ivory it may indicate a higher quality item.
