Any clues as to who made this piece and when?

I found this incredible little silver 3D scene of a chess match recently at a car boot sale. On cleaning it revealed a mind-boggling degree of detail and perspective. The photo provided won’t do justice to the sheer precision of those tiny chess pieces under the eye-glass. The whole scene is just 3¼" x 1¾" and surrounded with a decorative silver frame, which is much less fine work. Was the panel perhaps from an earlier use and re-framed? It has a hinged stand at the back and a loop if you preferred to hang it up. IN the bottom left appears the text “V König” and above this a cursive signature I can’t quite read. Any help identifying this will be greatly appreciated!
