The swastika is an ancient, sacred symbol used for thousands of years in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism to represent good fortune, prosperity, and well-being. Its name comes from the Sanskrit swasti (su meaning good, asti meaning to be). In contrast, the symbol used by the Nazis—known in German as the Hakenkreuz or “hooked cross”—was adopted in the 1920s to represent Aryan supremacy.

BP is the maker.

As to what it is, I am guessing gilded silver or 9 ct. gold but cannot really tell from pictures.

You could always test it yourself and tell us,I suppose.

There must be thousands of pieces of pre-1920’s jewellery with this religious symbol which the western world equated with good luck tucked away in drawers.

I own a stickpin which was given to my grandfather in 1894 which is a pearl swastika on a gold stick.

Leaving aside the opprobrium the symbol now triggers, the sort of cravats stickpins are useful for have rather gone out of style.

Tell us where you got it and its history as you know it and give us a weight if you are not curious enough to test for metal content and you might get further and better particulars.
