Art Deco or older?

Picked up a set of nice looking candlesticks the other day at auction. Not sure the age, maker or even style, but thought at first Art Deco. The mark is Sterling with a A.G. in a diamond. The only AG mark I see online is for a Alexander Gardner from Scotland. Any info on my purchase is much appreciated!
The base looks to have that 1800’s English silver wrap, while other pieces are solid.

No, not Scottish. I suggest must likely American from the use of the word “sterling”; this is not normally seen on British silver.
