Hey all! Recently picked up this gorgeous little Galleon silver-plated teapot and I’m looking to clean the inside to make it suitable for use.
Full disclosure: I know very little about silver or silver-plated items so forgive any ignorance there.
The outside of the teapot seems to be in good condition and has a nice patina so I don’t want to mess with that, but as is visible in the pictures the inside is a bit worse for wear. The finish is also different so I’m not even sure if the interior is also silver-plated or not.
There are some dark stains on the metal and what looks like rust? I’ve tried cleaning it with a few remedies like vinegar and lemon juice with water and also salt and lemon juice but nothing seems to be doing much.
Any advice on how to clean the interior of this without affecting the outside? and is doing so even neccessary?
Thanks in advance!
