Cake/Pie Server Towle Silversmiths?

There are NO markings of any kind and Towle doesn’t appear on it, but gthe handle looks identical to 2 examples of Towle Silversmiths I found on ebay. Magnets DO NOT stick to it.

The “magnet test” tells you only that it’s not made of iron or steel. Almost no other metal is magnetic. Even stainless steel varies - depending upon the composition, some stainless steel is magnetic, some not at all.

If this were Towle sterling silver, it would say so. There would be an unmistakable STERLING marking on it, and Towle would be identified as the maker. This might not even be silverplate, but just stainless steel.

These 2 examples are marked towle. To me they all all appear to be the same maker.

Beyond the fact that all are using mother-of-pearl inlay, I don’t see much similarity.

I think it’s a safe bet that if it isn’t marked Towle, it isn’t Towle. And no matter who made it, it’s certainly not sterling.

It is by Towel, it is aluminum with mother of pearl, it is a lasagna server. The pattern is called Mother of Pearl. The link for Replacements that Bartholomew posted has the answer.
Here is a direct link to the piece and pattern just click it

Thank you, Ellen, for yet another kind word! I have the distinct impression that some of my comments and tips go unnoticed… I do what I can to help people, I don’t want to shine, I don’t care about the glitz.
