I’m interested in knowing what I have here. Are these tumblers? I was told they are from Japan but I’m clueless. I would very much appreciate some help. Thanks!
Yes, they are tumblers and hand hammered (the “dimply” surface). I have a set of similar tumblers (not hammered, but smooth) that are from Japan. The “950” denotes 95% pure silver(vs. 92.5% which is the “sterling” of the U.K. and the U.S.A.) and is very common in Japan. A lot of Japanese silver does not carry a maker’s mark.
