I have a boxed set of spoons, each hand engraved with a pattern, It would seem odd to hand engrave a plated item and the tarnish is black, not purple (thank you for that insite!) Can anyone read the mark? Are they maybe coin silver? I think they are probably mid to late 20th centry as the box is not that old.
