Makers mark on crocodile skin cigar case appears to read &co followed by oLo. Possibly T & Co? If anybody is able to identify I would be grateful!
Your picture of the maker’s mark is out of focus. Please post a clear, in-focus picture. You do not need to get as close as in your picture above - a smaller in-focus image is of far more use than a large blur.
Just as I suspected… “… & Co LD”. Definitely London and dated 1892. Now just to find the right maker of the cigar sleeve…
Wolfsky & Co Ltd? But dots (pellets)…

Asprey had similar items in their offer, but the date doesn’t match at all… ![]()
Many thanks for your help. That looks correct. Hopefully the dots are only a variation?
As for the dots, I’m not entirely sure. I always try to find 100% confirmation, but in this case, I’m having a real problem… The bigwigs of this forum will definitely come to your aid. ![]()
For me it’s definitely a Wolfsky mark. There were several variations.
Thank you, Phil! That’s exactly what I meant!
It makes sense!https://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30091&start=180
I think there is a J and a W you can just make out. I’ve photoshopped your photo (last one of whole item) and then gone over the letters I think have been rubbed. I could be completely wrong though ![]()

Dear Libby, that’s a very accurate observation, but the volume of the signature “won’t accommodate” the two letters “JW”, and besides, the company’s registration year is 1899, while the item comes from 1892. It’s interesting to note that John Walker worked with bag handles… The more votes, the more interesting the discussion!
Libby, do you see the difference in shape and length?
Yes I do see how it’s slightly different. I’m still learning I know, but just thought it was worth putting my guess out there.
Kind regards
Liz
