Confusing hallmark on silver plate soda syphon holder

I thought Pineapple & EPNS (Old English script) is meant to be the makers ID (Ellis Barker 1906-1912) but the makers mark is SD & Co Ltd in a stretched shield. Can anyone suggest a solution?
