Hi. Could anyone help me with a date on this recently acquired decanter. I’m assuming it’s from UK but there’s no city mark

It’s a London mark for 1896/97. The maker/sponsor is William Comyns & Sons. I note that your decanter is lidded. If the mark which you show is on the lid you should find another partial hallmark, this time including the city mark, on the silver round the top of the decanter - or vice versa.
