This is on the underside of a trophy which I’m trying to find out more about. It’s a baseball trophy awarded in 1923-24. Exterior is peeling in one spot, so I think I have a read on it being Silver plate, but would love to confirm. Specifically I’d like to know what the “S16” means. Thanks for any help anyone can offer!
This link probably tells you about the New York Trophy maker.
And yes it is plate.

Thanks! What do you think about the “S16”?
If this is what you have, or any of the other five trophies then, while still plate, it has a collector value greatly in excess of the melt.
On the other hand the firm also made fairly pedestrian trophies which turn up at auction from times to time.
The S16 is an inventory or catalog number.

No I just have a cup, pretty similar in appearance to that 1914 one but from 10 years later. Thanks for the information!
