This mark appears to be a griffin rather than a lion (because of what looks like a wing) with a W in a shield shape
Anyone recognize it ? It’s on a small bowl (images below)
UPDATE: It looks like an old pre 1905 Whiting mark before they were absorbed into Gorham, since it has none of the date marks. Leaving this here for reference in case someone else is looking for it
Yes, that’s the Whiting maker’s mark, from before they were absorbed into Gorham. So, probably earlier than your grandmother’s wedding by at least a few years - but the same era.
