Edinburgh hallmark which year and maker

Hi all,

I would be grateful for some help identifying the year and maker on this priceless teaspoon owned by Scottish ancestors hailing from Stonehaven.

Am I correct that the spoon is from Edinburgh ?

The year letter appears to be a scripted capital B but I cannot find that in a chart.

The maker appears to be FMc but I cannot find that in a chart.

Is there a queens head at the end ?

Thanks for your help, started learning.

I think it’s a Gothic G. And yes, Edinburgh. 1838. Maker is probably James McKay, And that queen is a king. William IV, uncle to that queen.

Thanks very much Paul. I’d better watch out who I pick up in a bar next time.
