Electroplate, but stamped 930?

I have a very old piece. It is a toast server. I believe the maker is John Gilbert based on the mark. The mark also has EP on it, which means its electroplated as far as I understand. My question is, why would this piece then be marked in a completely different spot with 930?

Any help is appreciated.

930 could simply be a pattern number. Any chance of some pictures?
