Tks in advance, I’ve spent hours on this . Background - I believe item to be 19th century based on family history, Possibly Flemish or Austrian?? Could quite likely be wrong.
This is one of the many marks for John Gilbert of Birmingham, UK. The ‘EP’ in the shield under ‘JG’ means that this is electroplated.
