Silver vase gifted in 2010 from my mother. Can anyone tell me about this piece, how old it may be, or its value?

This does not appear to be silver - unless there is a hallmark which you are not showing us. The design registration number 440617 was issued in 1904 so the vase was probably made soon after that. Assuming that it is electroplated it has no intrinsic value for silver content so it has decorative or utility value only - perhaps a few tens of pounds.
