New to this forum and have attempted a global search with no luck. Please direct me if this subject has been covered
I am interested in the making (mostly Sheffield?), design and usage of sterling ferrules on mother of pearl or horn/bone silver and silverplate pieces. I see so many variations/combinations in style (knife blades, fork tines and ferrules). Some are clearly marked and stamped. I am doing okay tracking down makers on those. I am looking for a resource for ferrule design names. (The attached in particular.)
