Forbes tilting pitcher, goblet, and stand

I have a Forbes Silver Co. tilting insulated pitcher with stand, drip plate, and goblet. The bottom of the pitcher is stamped Forbes Silver Co Quadruple 492. Any idea how old this is, what its worth, and where I might sell it?

Forbes Silver Co was founded in 1894 in Meriden, CT, as a subsidiary of Meriden Brittania Co, and moderately-priced pieces were produced until about 1935. They made only silver plate - no sterling.

The pieces have decorative value only, since they contain virtually no precious metal. You might try selling it on eBay, but Forbes pieces rarely bring more than $100, in excellent condition, and often less than $25.

Thanks Jeff. This piece is quite elaborate and in excellent condition. Would a picture be helpful?

To be honest, not really, but post away!

Forbes pieces simply don’t bring a lot of money, no matter how elaborate or pristine. They were mass-produced, modestly-priced silver plate. I may be wrong, but I don’t think very many people are collecting it, and to bring good money, there have to be people actively looking for things like it.

ETA: Here’s an example of a large, showy set, in excellent shape, that’s been sitting on eBay for over a year, with no takers at $70:
