This is a piece from Brasserier Gibelin an old coffee in France
It has an “anchor’ stamp with “2”
Is this the Birmingham assay stamp ?
What does the “2” mean
Plated ? Sterling ?

French electroplate makers’ marks are in a square. The anchor is part of the maker’s mark and has no connection with Birmingham. Please do not confuse brasserie and brassiere - 2 completely different things!
I have no idea about the “2”.
