Hallmark - France 1809

Dear all,

My mum has done some silver cleaning today and asked me about the following hallmarks.

It should be something from France, Paris around 1809. That´s all what I could find out by myself.
But the second hallmark with an “M” and “L” is a riddle for me :frowning: Anybody has seen such a stamp ever before and can tell me something about it ?

Thanks a lot and regards,
Alexander

Hi Alexander,

The second mark is the maker’s mark. I can’t find it, but I don’t have a lot of French references.

The first mark was used between 1809-1819.

Hope that helps a little,

Ben

Dear Ben,

thanks a lot for your help. Yes, I assume this it not really an easy one.

Best regards,
Alexander
