I am researching some cigar cutters for a museum installation. Does anyone recoganize this? Maybe German? The blade is by Hermann Schulder of Solingen, Germany. Also, does anyone have knowledge–would this be a boar’s tusk?

The hallmark includes the dog’s head mark used in Austria-Hungary from 1867 to 1922 on small 800 standard silver. It includes the letter A for Vienna used from 1872.

Could be… I’m guessing that you looked here and found a potential match with Dietrich’s mark. That list of Austrian silversmiths also mentions Othmar Denninger but without an illustration of his mark. Nor do we know how complete the list is.
