Can anyone help with the hallmarks on some forks that I have. The marks are:-
(MADRAS)(SILVER)(H)(F)(&)(Co.)(S)
I’m at a loss as to what they mean. Have had no luck on the usual sites I check.
Probably Harrison Fisher & Co of Sheffield. Madras Silver is one of those non-silver alloys with an exotic name.
Yes, Madras Silver was a trademark of Harrison Fisher & Company.
Firm used this mark from 1900 ( when they became “& Co.” ) to about 1925.
