I need help identifying the mark on the back of the handle of this porringer bowl. The only thing I know is that because it is a lion in profile it would have been made sometime after 1831. Is it possible to figure out a date and/or manufacturer from just the mark or maybe from the shape and design of the handle? Any information would be helpful. Thanx much! 
Your porringer bowl was made by the Ellmore Silver Co of Meriden, Connecticut. They were in business from 1935 to 1960, so that gives an approximate date range.
