Can anybody please help with the letters above the date. (Which I think I’ve got as 1967)
I can confirm Birmingham 1967. The maker’s (or sponsor’s) mark is WJS. I have seen it before but have not identified it with certainty. I am, however, reasonably sure that it’s one of the marks of W J Sutton Ltd of Birmingham. They are described as “gold chain makers” so small jewellery items are very likely to have been part of their output.
