
Hello:
I’ve a possibly very old, possibly Spanish silver crucifix. Stamped into this are the two pictured hallmarks. These are, I believe, the same mark - perhaps the first strike yielded the incomplete mark and was this struck again. These are small, measuring less tyhan 1/8" horizontally.
The mark appears to read MP.
Will appreciate any thoughts on identifying this mark.

Based on the style, I would be very surprised if this were any earlier than mid-20th Century.
Alas, Spanish silver marks are very poorly documented, so there’s not much to go on. If it were a coin, the “MP” would indicate the Madrid Mint, but it’s not, so we’re left to guess. Bonham’s faced a similar conundrum:
