Hello, I’m really struggling with this hallmark and dating it correctly.
It is on a pair-cased pocket watch, I can’t find a duty mark to help sadly.
Any help would be great thank you.
It’s 1809. For 2 reasons: Duty on watch cases was rescinded in 1798 so this one must be after that time; and the maker, Charles Mince, registered this version of his mark in 1808 (an earlier version with separated letters was registered in 1800).
