Hi I am new to this site. I was gifted this large silver (I believe) platter. I am hoping someone can help determine the age and maker. The only hallmark I can find are the three letters “CFP” on the back side. Appreciate any assistance. Thank You.
If your tray had been silver of any grade it would almost certainly have had some sort of indication of silver fineness. The general rule is: if it isn’t marked it’s plated or a base metal alloy. With just the initials and with no idea of its geographical origin I fear that it will remain unidentified.
