Help Identifying Makers Mark (Birmingham)

Hi,

I wondered if anyone could help me identify the marks on what I believe to be a Vesta Case, made in Birmingham in 1938 — I believe the makers mark may have partly worn off? Can anyone out there help?

— Also if possible an approximate valuation would be useful too. Pictures below.

Kind regards,
Adam

Probably Joseph Gloster Ltd and I would go with the earlier letter “o” for 1913:

This is not a vesta case. The conical shape is typical of a case for a cigarette or cheroot holder. For value try Ebay’s “sold” feature - it gives a good idea of what people are prepared to pay.
