Hi. I have 2 pieces of cutlery i am unsure of the markings. Can anyone help with more information at all. Thank you.
Your first picture is of a London sterling silver hallmark for 1849. It does not include a maker’s mark - the asterisk is a journeyman’s mark, the private mark of the workman responsible for the piece.
The second picture shows a London sterling silver hallmark for 1867 (date letter m) with the maker’s mark of Chawner & Co; GA are the initials of the company manager, George Adams.
