Help Indentifying a Hallmark?

These salt and pepper shakers were in a box if goodies I bought at an estate sale. I’ve been searching the web for info. on the hallmarks but I’m stumped. I’m guessing it’s silverplate and possibly British but that’s as far as I can get. Can you help w/ identifying and dating? It looks like a “J” an “S” something I can’t make out and then a bird-like figure or possibly a comet shape. All marks are inside shields. Bottom is also marked E143. Thanks so much for your help!

These are American silverplate. The maker is Forbes Silver Co. which was founded in 1894 as a division of the Meriden Britannia Co. [ref: www.925-1000.com ].
