Hello, I’m new to the forum but have been collecting sterling silver for a few years.
I just bought this mystery (to me!) item with a hallmark I can’t find in my books.
I was told it was Norwegian Silver. It is less than 4inches tall and is hinged top and bottom
If anyone can help I’d really appreciate your advice please!

Scent box, so-called “Hovedvandsaeg”. Probably Norway.
Of semi-reeded baluster form with 2 scroll handles, the hinged cover enclosing a gilt interior, on a waisted stem and hexagonal foot with a hinged base, Assay Master's mark

U welcome! I’m still searching.
The symbol of two stars and an anchor has been stamped with a name, which may turn out to be the name of the item’s creator or the name of a city.

I don’t want to say I’m giving up, but after hours of fruitless searching, I need a break. I’m waiting for a response from the knowledgeable people on this forum.
