Does anybody here have an idea what these initials might be? At first I thought they were the initials “M C” or something like that, but having taken a photo and zoomed in I am now wondering if they are actualy Greek (or something else). Any suggestions gratefully received! Thank you!
It’s Arabic - probably Egyptian although there should be another mark, probably a lotus leaf. The first part of your mark reads 800 and is the silver content, while the second is the date letter. A similar symbol without the dot indicates 1947 but I believe that the dot shows that this is from a different date series. Unfortunately I have been unable to find illustrations of Egyptian date marks after 1982.
