Trying to identify and understand these numbers found on an old preserve spoon, any help appreciated, cant find anything online
They are a British design registration number: RD for “registered” then 167880, which was issued in 1891. So your spoon must have been made either during 1891 or afterwards.

Thank you so much, i couldn’t find anything myself! Trying to sell would it affect price do you know?
No, it won’t affect its value. But, assuming it doesn’t have a hallmark and is therefore not silver, the value will be very low anyway.
Thank you. You have been so very helpful, and i am very grateful.
Do i need to start a new thread for a different item?
It would be better, but we don’t mind too much.
The top mark is an electroplate mark of William Hutton & Sons. You can see their trade mark (inherited from earlier companies) of 8 crossed arrows, and also A1 in a shield which indicates their best quality plating.
The second mark is another electroplate mark. It crops up from time to time but, as far as I know, has not been identified.
