Help with 4-Marks in Silver Box?

Hi _ I have a piece of inherited silver and I would like some help identifying 4 marks.

Looks Like : " T & J and a cross"

Please see the pictures and let me know ANY info at all!

Unfortunately not a silver mark. This is an electroplate mark of Taunton & Johnson of Birmingham.

Thank You - is there anything else you can tell me about this thing? It is basically an oval box with a hinged lid - but I do not know what for - too large for cotton balls. I don’t think it was ever used - just displayed in a china cabinet. Any idea how old this might be?

It perhaps dates to the last 2 or 3 decades of the 19th century - I have found Taunton & Johnson in Birmingham Trades Directories for 1878 and 1883, but not in 1897. Your box may be a tea caddy.

This is a particularly fine biscuit box and stand. It might well be used as a tea caddy but they generally featured locks and were of smaller size and lacked stands.
