Hi all
Not sure whether this is UK hallmark or international. It appears on a small toast rack. I cannot decipher it and hoping someone can help. Thank you in advance!
It’s clearly not a UK sterling hallmark, so almost certainly silverplate (only sterling is given a proper “hallmark”). My gut feeling is that toast racks are primarily a British thing, so it’s unlikely to be from elsewhere.
The marks are heavily rubbed, and I think we’re seeing them upside down. Maybe the unidentified WMSP, in which the SP might stand for silver plate?
Anyone else want to take a stab at reading the worn gothic lettering?

I believe that the mark is upside down. The other way up it looks to me like JR&S, possibly John Round & Son of Sheffield.
