Could you help me with the hallmarks on this ewer? I live in Finland so I’m not well acquainted with foreign items and hallmarks. I’m fairly certain this is British from the 19th century. Browsing some lists of British hallmarks I’ve found the following: GF = George Fox?, lion passant = sterling silver, town mark = London?, date mark = 1870?, duty mark of Queen Victoria. Am I on the right track with these?
Also, I’d appreciate any information on how common or rare such items are, and whether it has any value beyond its weight in silver. It was given to me recently by my aunt who had it for decades but she couldn’t remember where or how she got it.
